Why Choose Us

Having an Estate Plan is essential in order to protect and preserve your assets for you and your loved ones during your lifetime and after your death. We will help you customize a plan that is unique to you and your family in order to pass property at death through wills, trusts, beneficiary designation, joint ownerships, and other distribution methods. We will take into consideration the type of assets in your estate, wealth you have accumulated, tax liability, who will manage your estate, who will receive your property, who will care for minor or disabled children, and the reduction of probate costs, and tax liability. An estate plan can pass your property to loved ones without a Court probate process.

Not only is the death of a loved one a trying time, but you may also face the task of managing the property, and debts of the deceased. You may find that the deceased’s property may have to pass through a probate proceeding unless the assets are in a trust, the assets are held in joint tenancy with the right of survivorship, or the assets pass by beneficiary designation. The probate proceeding is a Court supervised legal proceeding in which the decedent’s property is identified and collected, creditors are identified, and claims, taxes, and debts are paid. After this the remaining property is distributed to the decedent’s beneficiaries. Formal probate is for estates where the value of real property, excluding homestead, is more than $75,000.00. Summary Administration is a simplified procedure where the value of the real property, excluding homestead, is less than $75,000.00 or the decedent has been dead for two years or more. Let us help you navigate the process of probating your loved one’s estate.
